interior design studio II projects
In Studio II, we focused on commercial projects while further refining our Revit and presentation skills. In addition to Revit, we were introduced to Enscape, and began using Enscape in our projects.
YOUMEDIA TEEN LIBRARY SPACE
YouMedia, a youth-focused resource organization, wanted to create a space in a library where teenagers could go to read, work on homework, learn new skills, and socialize. I focused on creating a functional space that appealed to teenagers. During my design ideation, I realized that teenagers, at their core, don't want to be treated like kids. I focused my design choices around that insight, and created a space that met all the requirements and didn't feel childish.
The main focus of the project was creating zones, and organizing each zone in such a way that was not distracting and provided the librarians sightlines to the entire space. I separated the zones based on the loudness of the space, and which spaces fit together. The louder zones were grouped at one end, while the quieter zones were grouped at the other. I also focused on which zones required sunlight and which zones did not.
CHEROKEE STUDIOS OFFICE
Cherokee Studios is a building located in Los Angeles, California that has a long history tied to the music industry. The building was home to several recording studios, and has seen many well-known artists and bands record there. A graphic design company recently purchased space on the ground floor of the building and would like to create a creative office for their workers.
The main color palette and logo was pulled from two albums that were recorded at Cherokee Studios. I wanted to create a space that functioned well for the employees and was visually appealing for their clients and guests.
